この曲は1969年に発表されたアルバム『Abbey Road』に収録された曲である。

リンゴ・スターが作詞作曲をした楽曲であり、ボーカルもリンゴが担当している数少ない楽曲。（ちなみに作詞作曲者名のリチャード・スターキーはリンゴの本名）

ほのぼのとした曲調で「タコくんちの庭で一緒に暮らしたい」という子供向けのような歌詞とは裏腹に、この曲はリンゴが友人の船に乗った時に船長が昼食にタコを出してくれて、タコの習性などの話を聞いたときに思いついたと語っている。
