この曲は1967年に発表された14枚目のシングル曲であり、作詞作曲は主にポールで一部ジョンが手伝っている。リードボーカルはポールが担当している。
実際にリヴァプールにあるペニーどおりがモチーフとなっている。
明るくポップな曲調で、サビの部分では歌詞がわからなくとも昔を懐かしむようなそんな雰囲気がしっかりと漂う曲になっていると思う。
